about
Butterflies is the first single from Shira's debut album Till The Sun Comes.
"For the longest time I couldn't really feel anything after my dad passed away. Then I met this guy... and it was obvious that this was a romance, that this was not THE guy, but for a magic moment I felt my heart opening up and it just reminded me that- oh, this can happen to me again! Even after the worst thing you can ever imagine, happens. I can love."
lyrics
I can’t remember the last time I felt these butterflies, these butterflies
I can’t remember the last time I smile with an open heart, with an open heart
But you…. Make these walls fall apart
I won’t mind it, getting lost in town with you…
I can’t fight it. Look what your eyes just made me do…
But I never wanted someone new
So we just breathe in, in this moment
Love fast with no atonement
God, how I love to love you tonight
So we just hold on till’ tomorrow
Let go of all our sorrow
God, how I need to need you tonight, all right…
Hold me close and hold me fast
We both know that this will never last
It’s just temporary madness
In a temporary love infested night
And it’s all right…
So we just breathe in, in this moment
Love fast with no atonement
God, how I love to love you tonight
So we just hold on till’ tomorrow
Let go of all our sorrow
God, how I need to need you tonight, all right…
I can’t remember the last time I felt these butterflies,
these butterflies
